About Better Branches CUSO
In the summer of 2003, SAFE Credit Union, a 1.2 billion dollar
credit union in North Highlands, California teamed with The
Poulton Consulting Group and Performance System International
to conceptualize a system for perfecting the member's new
account opening experience.
Henry Wirz, President and CEO of SAFE, stated "If credit unions
are to prosper and grow they must stop competing on price and
improve member service. For SAFE Credit Union to accomplish
that meant re-thinking how we worked. That's why the Better
Branches CUSO was created-we had a desire to significantly improve
member service and to help other credit unions do the same."
Rick Poulton, President of Better Branches, worked closely with
SAFE's branch and IT staff to engineer the New Account Opening
Solution. Upon implementation at SAFE, management and staff
immediately witnessed a positive change in SAFE's member service
efficiencies, staff accountability, productivity and sales.
Today, Better Branches has several solutions have been embraced
not only by SAFE, but also by other credit unions throughout
the United States. The solutions include: Better Lobby, Better
WorkGroups, New Account Opening Process (NAP), HelpForce360 and others.
